LENNY MUD is a line of handcrafted ceramics designed by Lorrie Veasey, made in Pennasuken, New Jersey. Lorrie is best known for creating commercial brands in the past that were sold Internationally including Our Name is Mud and Really Great News. Lenny Mud marks a return to her roots of hand craftsmanship and a celebration of the marriage of witty sayings with functional pieces.
All of the items made are dishwasher and microwave safe, and only lead free, AP certified non toxic materials are used in their creations. Lorrie and her husband Kip run the company that they named after their clumsy studio cat, Lenny.

Cape Hatteras, Outer Banks, North Carolina
From the ocean to the sound, and the night sky where you can still see the Milky Way, the Outer Banks and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore offer inspirational views, animals in their natural habitat, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over the ocean, and enough wonder and beauty to inspire us every single day.
Jennifer Johnson, Blue Pelican’s owner and Hatteras Village native, creates most of the work in the shop. We also feature work from other local artists/artisans and craftspeople. When we want to share something that we can’t get locally, we look first for North Carolina crafters and then expand our search to American artisans making unique and limited production items.
And…the “and Yarn” part of our name? We have two rooms of the 1950’s house that is home to our local small business, full to the gills with yarn and more. We also have handmade buttons you can’t find anywhere else, kits for crochet, knitting and fiber arts. You should make the trip to see us if you’re in the area, if only to see just how cleverly we have filled up the shop. If you want to learn knitting, weaving, crochet, macrame or any other kind of fiber art, we have a teacher who would love to talk more with you.
