Cumulus Yarn by Juniper Moon Farm

Product Details

This super soft, fluffy, snuggly yarn is named after cumulus clouds; and it definitely lives up to its name!! It is made of luscious Israeli mako cotton that has just enough nylon so that it won't pull apart too easily. Use it for baby blankets, throws, clothing, accessories.

NOTE - must be hand washed. For me, the unbelievable softness is worth it; for other mothers/fathers, being machine washable may be more important than how the finished project feels.

The weight is listed as worsted, but if you use larger needles you will get a more lacy look requiring less yardage.

Cumulus currently has a rating of 4.8 stars, out of 169 votes on Ravelry. There are more than 300 Ravelry patterns available for baby blankets - both crocheted and knit. Yardage seems to range from 600 to 1000 yards, more or less. At 251 yards, that means you would likely need 4 to 7 skeins for a baby blanket. Two skeins should make a nice-sized scarf.
